About Indiependencia’s happy spam list 2013
Many of you don’t know this, but something wonderful (and at the same time, sad) happened just a couple of hours ago in the indiedev scene. A new online magazine called indiependencia made a little mistake while sending their introductory email to 500 devs. They sent the list attached to everyone. That’s right, they sent everyone’s email to everyone.
Gamingenthusiast name CYPHER one of the 30 Best Text-Adventures/Interactive-Fiction Games Over 5 Decades
The guys at Gamingenthusiast (Toddziak to be more precise) named CYPHER one of the Best Text-Adventures/Interactive Fiction game over 5 decades. What a great honor! We are sitting next to games such as “Adventure”, “Planetfall” and the almighty ”The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. What a great honor indeed!

"Cypher is a game that as evolved the text adventure genre"
Another CYPHER review! Wow! People love text adventures ;-) We thank the Nicholas Tan from indie-love for such amazing review. Hit the link and give it a good read!
Along with the story, the visuals add flavour to the game. Neatly split, the story text is on the left, while the complementary visual elements are on the right of the screen. The complementary visual elements include a picture of your character, location information, the items that you’ve picked up and a mini-map. However, the developers, Cabrera Brothers, kept the complementary visuals such as the mini-map simple. In the manual, they explained, “We insert images, sounds, little snippets of movements to make things pop into your imagination and at the same time we keep it minimal.” They added, “This way your imagination does most of the work but at the same time we ensure it goes exactly where we want it to go in terms of aesthetic.”
Indie-Love is one of those magazines you need to read if you are into indie games. Be sure to check out their shows too!

CYPHER: “one excellent exquisite example of what a text based adventure game can be”
Another CYPHER review just came in seconds ago!
In a world where graphics are an absolute must in order to attract a wide market of gamers, this update makes a hell of a difference to Cypher both as a game and as a marketable product. It’s a move that brings text based adventures into the realm of graphic novels, a move which could reignite the genre, or, at the very least, leave us with one excellent exquisite example of what a text based adventure game can be.
